Conformation Match

Sunday I took Heidi to a conformation match, to practice before the big Denver show in a week.  I was suprised at the number of dogs at the match.  I had thought that we could be the only keeshond there, but when I arrived, there were already 2 others, and then a few more came.  All the kees happened to be entered in the adult category.  Heidi showed wonderfully, focused, and not too fidgety.  Heidi won the female category, then went on to beat the boys for best adult kees.  We then got to go to the non-sporting group, where Heidi got a group 1.

In addition to this wonderful placement, I also got to show my friends Finnish Lapphund, Kia (my friend has 2 males, so she took one in the ring and I took the other).  Kia got 1st place in Lappies, so I took him back in for the herding group.  Kia also managed a group 1 placement.  What an awesome day.

Agility Trial

We had a fun weekend, a four day agility trial.  Izzy was entered all 4 days, and did great with 6 qualifying runs out of 8.  She also got a couple of 4th place finishes.

Heidi was entered for 2 of the days.  She managed to qualify in one of her novice runs, so she earned her Novice Agility Jumpers title.  Her standard runs, well, let's just say that she was the entertainment (yet again).  In the video below, she started her over-achieving run by taking an extra (off-course) chute.  This was followed by an off-course teeter (which as you can see, she went way out of her way to get to).  She then opted to go around a jump on her way to the off-course A-frame, followed by a zoomie to the off-course tunnel.  Well, at least she is enthusiastic about agility.
