Friday - October 29

Today is the puppies 3 week birthday.

The puppies have had a big week.  One week ago, the puppies had just openned their eyes.  This week, they are walking, they are hearing, and they are aware of their surroundings.  It's amazing that in just a few short days the puppies have come so far.   

Today, the puppies got their first meal that wasn't from Momma Izzy.  Here's the 3 part series of the event.

Wednesday - October 28

The puppies are 2 1/2 weeks old - so I thought I would try some individual pictures... they didn't cooperate.

The puppies are walking, some better than others - but they are all taking a few steps (and then tipping over).

More Visitors

Molly and Jackson stopped by to see the puppies.  The puppies are now 2 weeks old, and all have their eyes open.

We've been calling the orange boy Mondo, but Molly has re-named him to Mongo.

More visitors have come to see the puppies.  Nicely, they have brought pizza and diet coke as a bribe.

Today was a big day.  The first puppy openned it's little eyes - just a little slit.

The puppies are a week old.  What do puppies of this age do?

First, they eat.

Then they sleep

They also poop, but I didn't think anyone would want to see a picture of that.

Friday - October 8 - The Girls

After the first 2 arrivals were males, I was pleased that number 3 was a girl.  Pink girl weighed in at 8.0 oz.
Number 5 to arrive was the little lime green girl, weighing in at 7.2 oz.  - Already a little feisty, little limey is sticking her tongue out at the camera.
The final to arrive was the yellow girl, weighing 7.3 oz.  Was glad to get this final girl to have a nice balanced litter of 3 boys and 3 girls. 

Friday - October 8 - The Boys

Let's here it for the boys.

The first to arrive was the blue boy, the darkest of the boys, weighing in at 8.0 oz.
Next to arrive was the purple boy, the lightest colored of the boys, weighing in at 7.3 oz.
Arriving 4th was the orange boy, medium in color, weighing in at 7.3 oz.

Friday - October 8

We have puppies. 
After a false start at 2:30 AM, Izzy delivered her first pup at 10:30 AM.  6 cute, squirmy little puppies made their way out, 3 girls and 3 boys.

Thank goodness for wonderful friends who are willing to come to my house at 3:00 AM, sit around watching Izzy, leave at 8:30 AM, and return at 9:30 AM for the real thing. 

Monday - October 4

Puppies are coming.
Just returned from the vet where we had an X-ray done.  We saw 6 puppies.  Reality is now hitting.  So much to do before they arrive.  When we got home, we found that my husband had started setting up the whelping area - awesome.

Due date is October 9th or 10th, and finally today Izzy looks pregnant - all that hair, who can really tell.
